Harriet Bechtel Art's sales philosophy
The internet is a great thing. It teaches, it displays, it speeds up commerce, so much so, that
they call it e-commerce. It allows Harriet to get her artwork out there and in the public much
more so than just staying local here in New York's Hudson Valley or on the Jersey Shore. But is also
removes that personal touch that we think needs to accompany the transfer of fine art from the creator
to a caring buyer. That's why, through the entire acquistion process, Harriet's agent, Leslie, will
be in contact and available to you for any questions or concerns. Thanks again!

Buying a piece
Once you find a painting in one of Harriet's galleries (or on the price list) that you would like to
purchase, you must first click the more info link which will take you to a detailed
description of the piece. On the detail page for the item, click on the Buy This Item link, which will take
you to the purchase page. Fill out the form with the required information and click
confirm. An email will be sent to you with a link to the piece, payment requirements, shipping
& handling instructions, and guarantee information. We will send you an order confirmation you
within 24 hours.

Buying a piece that is currently in auction
Some of my items have been placed in auctions. You may come across several of these as you
wander through the galleries. If you discover that you would really like one of these items
hanging on an empty wall in your house or office, just click on the Bid on this Item at Auction
link, and a new window will open containing the auction. At this point you can follow the
instructions on the auction page. Good Luck! And, of course, thanks for your interest!

Shipping and Handling
All artwork is professionally packaged and insured to guarantee that your item makes it safely to
its assigned wall space in your home or office. Shipping fees will be calculated based on the
destination postal code, the weight of the package and how soon you, the buyer, needs the item.
You will be asked to provide this information when Harriet's agent, Leslie, contacts you.

Payment methods accepted
The preferred method of payment is PayPal, which allows you to use your American Express, Discover,
MasterCard, Visa or even your bank account. We also accept money orders, or cashier's checks in U.S. dollars and drawn on
a U.S. bank. We will also accept personal checks. All money orders, cashier's checks and personal
checks must clear both bank's before the item is shipped. You will be asked by Harriet's agent, Leslie, during
her inital contact with you, how you would like to pay. If you chose to pay through PayPal, we will
send you an email with instructions on how to conveniently pay for your artwork through PayPal. If
you choose not to pay through PayPal, other arrangments can be made at that time.

Guarantee & return policy
While it saddens us to imagine that one of Harriet's pieces would need to be returned, we understand
that sometimes, for any number of reasons, an item needs to rejoin it brothers and sisters back in the
studio. So, rest assured, Harriet offer's a 30 days money back guarantee if you are not completely
satisfied with your purchase. You will, of course, need to pay the return shipping AND insurance fees,
which should be similar in magnitude to the fees charged when the item was sent to you. To return an
item, just send us an email with your name, address, a
phone number where you can be reached, and why you would like to return the item. Leslie will contact
you within 24 hours to begin the return process. Your refund will be sent to you on the first business
day after receiving the artwork at the studio.
